Confide counsellors have approved qualifications and a wide range of experience enabling them to offer you constructive support.

We have a number of student counsellors’, who are based with us whilst working towards their professional counselling qualifications. They are normally in their second or third year of training and deemed suitable to be working with clients by their training establishment and ourselves.

Confide counsellors are members with a recognised accrediting body such as the British Association of Counselling (BAPC).

A program of continuing professional development for all counsellors is run by the agency with several training days a year.

Our counsellors are all professionally insured.

Supervision

Our counsellors receive fortnightly supervision as set out by the BACP Ethical Framework. This is a process of consultative support whereby counsellors, without betraying confidentiality, discuss their caseload with a qualified professional clinical supervisor within the agency who can offer suitable guidance with a view to ensuring continued proficiency in meeting the standards of good practice.

The emphasis of supervision is around how the counsellor is working with the client and not on the clients personal materials.

What is the definition of confidentiality?

Confidentiality  is strictly observed and sessions are conducted in full accordance with BACP ethics and guidelines.  Great care is taken to protect the identity of clients and personal information is coded and details kept under lock and key. The only exception is that if there are strong grounds for believing you intend to harm yourself or other people, your doctor or other appropriate authority may be advised; but this would not normally be done without your knowledge.
